Who Are We..

The Church of Christ has been in Morro Bay since the mid-1950s. It has been in its current location since it beginning. The facility is located at 1001 Las Tunas Street (X with Kings Street).

The congregation is or has been made up of members who come from the communities of Morro Bay, Los Osos, Cayucos, Cambria and San Simeon. We have enjoyed visitors from around the block to around the world. Many visitors and second home members come from the Central Valley of California.

Meet Our current Minister/Evangelist is David Ryal.

David had worked with congregations in Southern California. He has been in the ministry for almost 48 years. Most of those years, he has been a bi-vocational minister. He has been a city editor for community newspapers, managers of chambers of commerce and Directors of Small Business or Women’s Business Centers. David helped to develop a program to assist at-risk youths/young adults in the county of San Luis Obispo. He also served as a Vice-President of a job placement business. Thus, David brings a real world perspective to the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

David is a graduate of the Southern California School of Evangelism located in Buena Park, CA.  He has been in the ministry for over 48 years.  He has served with congregations in Southern and Central California.  He has been with the Morro Bay congregation since 2003.  (As noted in another part of the website, David updated and edited the work "My Masters Moments in 2011).

One item that the congregation has to highlighted is the couples that has been who have been married for over 50 years. At one time this congregation was home to three long lasting marriages. This is a testament to the design of marriage and family given by God at the beginning.

We are a no frills congregation. In our worship services we honor God and His Son Jesus Christ through the study of His Word, prayers, singing, giving of our time, talent and means to support the work of the congregation, and the continued remembrance of Christ’s death through the Lord’s Supper. In the study of God’s Word, we strive to understand it in its historical context and then bring that meaning up to us today.

We recognize that we are not perfect in all things and that as the Apostle Paul said, “we all fall short of the glory of God”. We strive to support each other, and help each other in drawing closer to God each day.

We would like to encourage you to come visit to learn better and more “about us”.
